Firmhelm Limited provide a full range of services from our boatyard facilities and we thrive ourselves on our quality of work and service provided from our professional management through to the team of dedicated tradesmen.  This quality has now established us as the leading yard in the North West and Wales and has also been recognised by the most reputable insurance companies and loyal clients alike, now with the increased capacity to enable boats of upto70ft under cover our facilities are available to clients who in the past have had to go further afield for major works.

Repairs, Refits, Maintenance

Extensive services in these areas include:-

Specialist structural repairs in epoxy resins and multiaxial glass systems;

GRP work;

Timber and joinery work;

Full consultancy, work appraisals and advice.

Mast work, Rigging and Splicing

We offer a full rigging service with hydraulic swaging up to 12mm.  All splicing works undertaken and together with our full time riggers and 18 ton mobile crane all services are available in house.

Osmosis Centre

We have been carrying out the Blakes SFE 200 solventless epoxy treatment system since the early 1980's with tremendous results and were one of the first yards with a Gelplane gelcoat peeler so together with providing the best products and equipment coupled with the research and development in conjunction with Blakes Paints and team of experienced applicators you need to look no further when it comes to resolving your problems with Osmosis.

Spray Centre/Painting

We provide spray and hand painting facilities for timber, grp and steel using the latest products from the leading paint manufacturers as well as all annual antifouling works.

Boat Hoists

We have three boat hoists up to 40 tons together with a rough terrain 18 ton mobile crane so our flexibi8lity for all boat movements  and craning is vast.

Secure Storage

We offer secure storage for boats on both sites with the ability to store up to 200 vessels.  All boats on storage have power and water available together with cradles for hire so all your needs are available with no fuss.
